Beaver Christmas Party
Santa jouned over 100 Beavers from accross the district for their Christmas bash at Haworth community center. Beside recieveing gifts from the man in the red suit they also played party games, ate loads of food and danced at the Disco.

Live 07
The national centenary events drew to a close in spectacular fashion at the 02 Arena on the 24th November, the 23,000 seater arena was packed for two perfomances including live cooking during the shows, dragon boat racing, syncronised mini-driving, a huge race featuring our Districts own Explorers (left), absailing from the roof as well as a campfire sing-a-long. Hosted by Peter Duncan and other celebrities it was a fantastic celebration of all things Scouting.

Chris Whittingham
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Chris Whittingham in Airedale Hospital on Sunday 18th November 2007 aged 64. Chris was involved with Scouting for many years as Group Scout Leader with 2nd Riddlesden, as one of the organisers of the annual swimming gala and he was also involved with the weekly Scout swimming session. The funeral is to be held at Riddlesden URC church on Monday 26th Novemeber at 1:15pm.

The thoughts of the District are with his friends and family.

Lest we forget
With many British service personnel loosing their lives this year the annual act of remembrance is as important as ever and scouting was represented at many ceremonies around the district. There was also a good turnout at the Keighley Civic Ceremony with District Commissioner Jeanette Young laying a wreath at the war memorial.

Centenary Bonfire
The centenary bonfire was a huge success with around 700 people descending on Keighley rugby union club to watch a spectacular display. Thanks to everyone who came 2007 is proving to be a fantastic year for scouting.

Camp Cook / Beaver Quiz / Cub Night Hike
This was a frantic and fantastic weekend of scouting with events taking place for three sections. A great turnout at the Scout Camp Cook (this year combined with the challenge flag) led to Oakworth retaining the Challenge Flag, Riddlesden Winning the Camping, Long Lee taking the cooking and the David Exley trophy being presented to Silsden.

In the beaver quiz held at Riddlesden Scout headquarters the winners were Fell Lane (Left). The cub night hike was also a huge success with over a hundred cubs, leaders and parents snaking over the world famous moore. Well done and a big thanks to everyone taking part in an event this weekend.

Sainsbury's Week
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, cooked, packed, played and did anything else at Sainsburys it was a fantastic event that not only raised money but also increased awareness of scouting and allowed us to recruit quite a few new members and raised over £2,000!

Sunset Ceremony
The centenary Sunset ceremony was a tremendous success with around 500 people being present to renew their promise. A centenary necker and some other lost property was left please email us from the contact page or contact the district commissioner if you think it's yours.

Striking Gold
Congratulations to 5 Scouts from the District who collected their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's award in a ceremony at Windsor Castle attended the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Centenary Enterprise Camp
The biggest camp Keighley has ever seen took part over the weekend of the 25-28th May 2007. Near 300 people turned up to celebrate a century of Scouting taking part in every activity you could think of. A huge thanks to everyone who made it possible. Click this link for pictures.

Cub Quiz
This years winners of the Cub quiz were Riddlseden with St Annes in second and Fell Lane third.

St Georges day
Our centenary St Georges day was a huge success with standing room only in the Church. Along side the traditional hymns this year we also sung songs that would usually find around a camp fire including crest of a wave and BP Spirit and the parade back was livened up by hundreds of St Georges flags.

Beaver Challenge Flag
